“22 Candles”

Death is never easy but the loss of someone young makes it even more tragic and heartbreaking. Someone who had their whole life ahead of them, suddenly cut short. Life goes on. You have to watch everyone else going on with their day to day lives while you have to bear this weight on your shoulders. Forever.

A couple years ago I faced a huge loss in my family. My brother was killed at the age of 21. It was a week from his 22nd birthday. 

22 Candles explores the physical depiction of burning out, running out of time. As my 22nd birthday approaches, I am reminded that there will never be any more birthdays for him. He was never able to blow out the candles and make a wish.
